GPCS Soccer Update
GPCS JV Soccer is beginning a busy week with 3 games. Currently JV is 4-1. The next home game for our JV team is Tuesday, October 11 at 4:00pm, GPCS vs Vineyard. Come and cheer on our future varsity players!
GPCS Varsity Girls Soccer Team is currently 0-8. The team is looking for their first win. There are lots of home games this month for the girls. Come and cheer.
GPCS Varsity Boys Team is currently 5-4 and ranked 7th in Class D West.
GPCS Homecoming 2011 was last Saturday. Despite the misty weather, we had 3 great soccer games! The JV and Varsity Boys took wins and the Varsity Girls lost by one goal. Thank you to all parents who helped with this whole day event.

There are many ways to help GPCS. All of us working together can help close the gap.

5.Hannaford School Dollars– our store is the Hannaford at Millcreek. But, you can send in your school dollars to school and we will turn them in to Millcreek for you.
6.GPCS athletics are collecting Coke rewards– see Chris Spaulding.
GPCS Yearbook Committee
You can sign up for Yearbook on Picture Day, October 5. Yearbook is open to all students in grades 6-12.
The GPCS Yearbook Committee takes pictures, inventory pictures, does computer lay out of pages for yearbook, etc. For students in grades 9-12, participating in Yearbook helps you in your Fine Arts requirement. Mrs. Beth Turner and Mrs. Kimberly Mann will be overseeing the yearbook project again this year.
Yearbook hopes to have meetings during the school day or it may meet for an hour after school.
GPCS Magazine Drive
GPCS kicked off the annual Magazine Drive on Tuesday, September 27. The collection dates are:
1st– Monday, Oct. 3
2nd– Thursday, Oct. 6
Final– Thursday, Oct. 13.
Family and friends from away can order too. They can go online to www.qsp.com. The GPCS online QSP # is 1090345. Ordering online still profits GPCS.
The school goal is $7,000 in magazine sales. This mean all student need at least 4 sales. Join us in raising funds for the school!
Portland Press Herald Player of the Week
Adam Simpson, Greater Portland Christian:
Over the weekend, Simpson scored six goals and had five assists in wins over Highview Christian and Islesboro. Simpson had five goals and an assist against Islesboro, and a goal and four assists against Highview. "He's definitely our leader," said Coach Chris Spaulding.
