GPCS Open Teaching Positions
Greater Portland Christian School has two teaching positions open for the fall of 2011. We are looking for a High School Math Teacher and a High School English Teacher. Both position are full time. A teacher’s application can be downloaded from our web site at www.gpcs.net, click on “Downloads”. Applications are being accepted now.

Miss Bonnie Helms, our current high school English teacher, is retiring. Miss Cristy Hatch, our current high school math teacher, is getting married. Both of these teachers are a blessing to GPCS and will be greatly missed.

GPCS Summer Camp Opportunities

GPCS has a full summer camp schedule for your children to participate in. All camp registrations forms can be downloaded from the web site at www.gpcs.net, click on “downloads”. Please share camp info with friends and neighbors.

June 20-24:GPCS Summer Basketball Camp. Cost is $50/student. K-5th Grade from 8:30am-noon and 6th grade-12th grade 12:30pm-4:00pm. Coach Dawson is the Director.

June 27-July 1: GPCS Summer Soccer Camp. Cost is $50/student.. K-5th Grade from 8:30am-noon and 6th grade-12th grade 12:30pm-4:00pm. Coach Spaulding is the Director.

The month of July: GPCS Summer Camp. Cost is $90/student/week. Week 1 is July 5-8, On The Move! Week 2 is July 11-15, Lights, Camera, Action! Week 3 is July 18-22, Lego Mania! Week 4 is July 25-29, Sand, Sun, & Surf!

And new this year…

August 1-5 & August 8-12: GPCS Sports Camp. The cost is $90/student/week. Offered to students entering Kindergarten through 6th grade. Some of the sports the camp will offer is floor hockey, kickball, touch football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, capture the flag, etc.

Graduation 2011

GPCS will graduate 9 seniors next month. Graduation will be Friday, June 3 at 7:00pm. The ceremony will be at the South Portland Church of the Nazarene (note this change). All are welcome to attend and rejoice with us.

First Annual Alumni Softball Game

GPCS is please to announce the first annual alumni co-ed softball game. We invite all alumni and former students to come together for a fun afternoon of competition and fellowship. Unlike other alumni games, this will not be a game between alumni and students. The two teams will be made up of former students, alumni, and their families. It is a chance for old friends to reunite and for new friendship to develop. Please RSVP to cspaulding@gpcsathletics.com and let us know if you and your family will be able to attend. Alumni Update:

* Emily Johnson (class of 2006) is engaged to Ben Rodgers.

* Emily Johsnon (class of 2006) was recently crowned Miss Maine. She will not compete in the Miss USA Pagent as the dates conflict with Crystal Johnson (sister, class of 2004) wedding. Articles have been on local paper has well as several TV shows.

* Crystal Johnson (class of 2004) & Julia Hasbrouck (former student, class of 2007) will be traveling to Poland on a mission trip.

*Jeff Sparks (class of 2005) is married.

*Amelia Gagnon (class of 2008) is engaged to be married.

*Phil Jones (class of 2000) and his wife had baby #2.

*Rachel Friedlander (class of 2007) has a published article with "Jews for Jesus". Check out www.jewsforjesus.org. The article is Hide and Seek: The Story of a Holocaust Survivor.

*Amber Conant Pelletier (class of 2003) is expecting baby #2.
