October Update -GPCS Alumni

Homecoming 2010

Last Saturday, October 9th was a wonderful fall day for Homecoming! Sunny yet with a coolness in the air and many trees already full of color. GPCS Homecoming began with a gathering of JV Soccer Players. The team was divided into teams for a 4x4 tournament. Thank you to Coach Jay Imler, Danny Patterson & Erik Jensen for pulling the tournament together.

Chris Spaulding (class of 1989), GPCS Athletic Director then held a meeting for those interested in being a part of Bosters. Andrew Foster (former student class of 2000), Joel Bamford (class of 2000), Daniel Nye (class of 1990),Lois Bamford, & Connie Woodward were present. The group mainly talked of ways to connect with alumni and former students concerning GPCS athletic programs and to encourage their involvement big and small.

Next on the homecoming event list was the Varsity Girls' Soccer Team taking on Calvary Christian. The GPCS Girls' took a win! This was a nice way to end a very long week for the girls team. The GPCS Varsity Girls are 4-5-1 and are ranked 5th in Western Class D with the MPA.

The Varsity Boys game followed. Calvary Christian School is currently ranked 1st in the Eastern Class D with the MPA. The GPCS Varsity Boys team took a loss. The team is currently ranked 3rd in Western Class D with a record of 6-4.

We all took a break to enjoy a cook out with kabobs, hotdogs & hamburgers. After dinner, the GPCS Varsity teams took on GPCS Alumni. The Alumni won 4-0. Alumni spotted at Homecoming were; David Simpson (class of 1990), Steve Simpson (class of 1987), Alan Simpson (class of 2009), Daniel Nye (class of 1990), Joel Bamford (class of 2000), Jared Bamford (class of 2006), Megan Waugh (class of 2008), Jacob Thibeault (class of 2008), Derek Green (class of 2008), Rob Conant (class of 1990), AJ Holt (class of 2001), Casey Walter Holt (class of 2002), Onycha Carlson (class of 2007),Jacki Woodward Morris (class of 2005) & Nic Lops (former student with the class of 2011) .
